Terms of service

By downloading, installing, or using the TipWorld mobile application, you agree to be bound by these terms of service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the app.

TipWorld: Tip like a local. TipWorld is an offline tipping guide and calculator for travellers. It answers the question every traveller has at the end of a meal, a taxi ride, or a hotel stay, what do I leave here, with country-specific guidance that works without a connection, and a calculator that turns that guidance into an exact figure on the bill in front of you.

TipWorld is designed to be suitable for all ages.

Where the app offers sign-in, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You must not use another person's account without permission.

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the app or its backend systems.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the app.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the app.
• Use the app to transmit harmful, offensive, or abusive content.

Tipping customs vary by region, establishment, and over time, and the guide reflects our best understanding at the date shown on each country page. We don't guarantee that any guidance is accurate, complete, or current, and the amount you leave is always your decision. When in doubt, local signage, your bill, and the people serving you are the final word.

Premium is purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and their terms apply to billing, taxes, refunds, and payment methods. Monthly and Annual subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends; you can cancel any time in your store account settings, and access continues until the end of the paid period. Where a plan includes a free trial, you won't be charged during it, and the subscription begins, with the first charge, when the trial ends unless you cancel before then; any unused portion of a trial is forfeited once you purchase a subscription. Lifetime is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and grants Premium for the life of the app on the store account that purchased it. Restore purchases re-activates Premium on a device signed in to the purchasing store account, and refund requests are handled by the store under its own policies.

You retain ownership of the content you create in the app. By using the app, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store and display that content solely to provide the service to you. We do not claim ownership of your personal data.

The TipWorld name, logo, design, and all related content are the intellectual property of the developer and are protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the app without prior written consent.

If you enable notifications, you consent to receiving push notifications from the app. You can disable them at any time via your device settings.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the app at any time, without notice, if you violate these terms or engage in conduct we determine to be harmful to the app or its users. You may delete your account at any time; upon deletion, all your data is permanently removed.

The app is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including uninterrupted or error-free operation, fitness for a particular purpose, or accuracy of any content.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

We may update these terms from time to time and will note significant changes by updating the "last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
