TipWorld

in development

Tip like a local.

coming to the play store & app store · ios · android

TipWorld is an offline tipping guide and calculator for travellers. It answers the question every traveller has at the end of a meal, a taxi ride, or a hotel stay, what do I leave here, with country-specific guidance that works without a connection, and a calculator that turns that guidance into an exact figure on the bill in front of you.

Every one of the 33 countries has a hand-written briefing: local tipping culture at a glance, the expected tip for each service the way locals actually think about it (a percentage range, a flat amount, round up, or no tip expected), whether service is already on the bill, and the etiquette notes that keep you from the common mistakes.

Pick a country and a service, enter the bill, and TipWorld shows the tip, the total, and the per-person share, split evenly and colour-coded so shares are easy to trace. There are no accounts, no sign-in, and no location tracking. The whole guide ships inside the app.

the problem

Why it exists

Every traveller hits the same moment: the bill arrives and nobody actually knows what's expected here. Guessing either overtips out of anxiety or undertips out of ignorance. TipWorld replaces the guess with a real, country-specific answer and turns it into an exact number, offline, in the moment it's needed.

features

What it does

  • 33 countries, fully offline

Hand-written briefings across Europe, Asia, the Americas, the Middle East & Africa, and Oceania.

  • A calculator for every tipping model

Percentage presets, flat amounts, round-up cultures, and honest "no tip expected" answers, all handled correctly.

  • Bill splitting

Split any bill between any number of people, tip distributed proportionally, each person colour-coded.

  • Trips

Log the tips you leave on a trip, with totals kept separate by currency so nothing gets silently mixed.

  • Searchable, not just browsable

Search by country, region, or currency, or by service like taxi or hotel, to compare the rule across every country at once.

  • No accounts, ever

No sign-in, no location tracking. The whole guide ships inside the app.

faq

Questions

How does the free calculation allowance work?

The calculator updates live as you type at no cost. A calculation is only spent when you tap Reveal the tip, and it tells you how many you have left first. One bill costs one calculation no matter how long you spend on it or how many times you adjust the tip or the number of people. The allowance resets on the 1st of each month.

Does TipWorld work without internet?

Yes. The entire country guide ships inside the app, so it works fully offline.

Do I need an account?

No. There's no sign-in and no location tracking.

What happens with "no tip expected" or "service charge included"?

Those answers are always free and never use up a calculation.

What does Premium unlock?

Unlimited calculations, every etiquette note in full, custom tip percentages and rounding, itemized bill splitting, sharing and exporting, unlimited saved trips and favorites, and trip insights across currencies.

Is there a free trial?

The Annual plan includes a 7-day free trial. You're not charged until it ends, and cancelling before then means you're never billed.

What's the difference between Monthly, Annual, and Lifetime?

Monthly and Annual are auto-renewing subscriptions; Lifetime is a single one-time payment with no recurring charge.

How do I cancel or manage my subscription?

Through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings, not inside TipWorld directly. Access continues until the end of the period you already paid for.

please note

Before you start

Tipping customs vary by region, establishment, and over time, and the guide reflects our best understanding at the date shown on each country page. We don't guarantee that any guidance is accurate, complete, or current. The amount you leave is always your decision, and when in doubt, local signage, your bill, and the people serving you are the final word.
